Letter from Mr. Culp to the fans

April 1999
Dear Friends, "Some of you may have wondered if Clayton Webb will ever be returning. Well, he is and the episode will air May 11. I can't say too much about it-- it should be a treat for fans of Webb and the Admiral. It has been a busy few months for me, and I am only catching up with a large backlog of correspondence. I want to thank all of you who have sent in letters and showing your support for JAG and Mr. Webb. As I've said it is because of people like you that the show has gotten the attention it deserves. As in all professions, a lot of time and effort can go into things that never see the light of day, and this has been my story this past week. (That's why I try to subscribe to the adage: "It's the process, not the product, that's important"). You will be able to see me making a cameo appearance as Greg Kinnear's agent in the forthcoming movie "Nurse Betty" (Which also stars Renee Zellweiger, Morgan Freeman and Chris Rock), althought you may not recognize me, because I have long hair and a beard--very un-Webblike! I also found time to direct a very successful staged reading of Henrik Ibsen's "Rosmersholm" at UCLA in March. I hadn't worn the director's hat in quite a while, and must say I really enjoyed it! The reading was performed with members of the Interact Theater Company of North Hollywood, where I am both a company member and on the artistic comittee- We have a wonderful production of Chekhov's "Cherry Orchard" running until May 16, and are in the process of developing more projects for next season. Once again, thanks to all of you for your continued support. Till next time, All the best, Steven Culp"
