This play is about the funny “horrors” of creating a Broadway show, based on an insider’s point of view, in the late 40’s The story is set behind the scenes of the opening night of a Broadway show, giving he audience a rare look at the personalities and relationships of those involved in the production of such a show. The main characters are a stage mother ( Stella Livingston ), a star-struck theater lover ( William Gallagher ), the producer’s money hungry wife ( Frances Black ) and a passionate, tearful director. ( Carlton Fitsgerald. ) Other characters in the play include Peter Sloan ( Steven’s part ), Sidney Black, Irene Linvingston and Owen Turner, a playwright who has been through this hell before. The characters take us along the opening night disaster of the first effort of new Playwright Peter Sloan. Peter suffers in agony and hope before and after "magic time, those golden hours when a play receives its debut”. This is a hilarious play, that follows in Moss’s well known fast-paced comedies.
