This play by the Norwegian playwright Ibsen, is a drama about a pastor trying to abandon his faith for a life in politics. The play is filled with typical Ibsenian pyschological blackmail, voices from beyond the grave, subconscious inner demons and much more. The lead characters are Rosmer and his platonic live-in friend Rebecca West. The play starts with Rosmer as he is ready to re-enter public life after the suicide of his wife. As he enters the political field, problems arise with his brother-in-law ( Rector Kroll ) and a radical newspaperman. ( Mortensgård ) The second act of the plays deals with accusations, personal revelations and confessions that involve Rosmer’s late wife and his friend Rebecca. The play continuos along those lines as each revelation unfolds as Ibsen addresses several psychological and social themes. "Rosmersholm"
